Ann comes from a long family line of artists, including her great grandmother, grandmother, cousin and aunt. Ann is proud to have a family history of creators and feels that her family's legacy informs her work and her drive to create. Along with the Oakland A's, cats are another cornerstone for Ann's practice; she had a cat as a child and they have always been an important part of her life. Making art keeps her life centered and calm, according to Ann. After creating this 3 color risograph print from a recent watercolor Ann created, we spoke with her about her relationship with the A's and her sadness about them leaving town,
"I was the only one in my family that liked baseball. I started following the A's in 1982, the year I graduated from high school. Some of my friends were A's fans, yea. But they're moving! They're going to be in Sacramento for three seasons, then in 2028 they're going to Las Vegas. It's kind of sad. I never had a favorite player, I just liked the team. I don't know if I'll still follow them when they move. I used to go to a lot of games, but this year is different because, all the boycotts and stuff, my sister won't let me go to the games. They're boycotting Oakland because they're moving. They want Oakland to stay in Oakland."
